A car accident in Youngsville rarely stays simple. The insurance company often calls within days. Sometimes it calls before you have even seen a doctor for the pain in your neck or your back. It offers you a number and hopes you take it fast. You need to know what your claim is worth before you say yes to anything.
Richard R. Kennedy became the first attorney in Louisiana certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, back in 1980. For decades, our Youngsville car accident lawyers have gone up against the same insurance companies that cover drivers on LA Highway 92 and LA Highway 89. We know how these companies value a claim, and we know how to push back.
That experience means your case gets built for its fair value from the start. As your Personal Injury Lawyer, we work to avoid rushed settlements that leave your future medical bills uncovered. Call today for a free conversation with an experienced injury attorney.

Louisiana law starts with a simple rule. If someone else’s fault caused your injury, they owe you full repair for the damage. This comes from Louisiana Civil Code art. 2315. That is the legal foundation of your claim. But the insurance company representing the other driver does not use that rule to set its offer. It calculates the smallest number it thinks you will accept.
You also do not have unlimited time to act. In most cases, Louisiana now gives you two years from the date of the crash to file a lawsuit for your injuries. This two-year window only applies to crashes that happened on or after July 1, 2024. If your crash happened before that date, the old one-year deadline likely still applies. Shorter or different deadlines can also apply if the injured person is a minor or if the crash resulted in a death.
Miss that window, and the right to recover can disappear. It does not matter how serious the injury was or how clear the fault was.
What does a fair settlement account for? Not just today’s emergency room bill. It should also cover future treatment, lost income, and the toll a lasting injury takes on your daily life.
We start by reviewing the actual cost of your injury. That includes medical care you have already received, treatment you will still need, lost income, and the impact on your daily life.
Youngsville sits in Lafayette Parish. A car accident lawsuit is filed in the 15th Judicial District Court at the Lafayette Parish Courthouse. We appear in this courthouse regularly, and we know how cases move through it.
Most car accident claims settle with the insurance company before a lawsuit is ever needed. We prepare every case as if it could go to trial. That preparation is often exactly what pushes an insurer to pay a fair number without one.
Louisiana law lets you recover money even if you share some of the blame. For crashes on or after January 1, 2026, you can recover as long as you are less than 51% at fault; if you are 51% or more at fault, you recover nothing. For crashes before that date, the older rule applies: you could recover money no matter how much fault was yours, as long as you weren’t 100% at fault. Either way, the amount you recover is reduced by your own percentage of fault.
Youngsville has been the fastest-growing city in Louisiana for the past two decades. LA Highway 92 and LA Highway 89 now carry far more daily traffic than they were built for, and that raises the risk of rear-end and intersection crashes during peak commute hours.
We handle car accident cases on contingency. That means there is no fee unless we recover money for you, and your first conversation with us costs nothing.
